I have experienced firsthand how cancer has impacted my family and others I know. Cancer claimed my grandmother and grandfather before I had the chance to meet them. And though they have become real to me through stories shared by my parents, I wish I could’ve met these very special and impactful people.

I know I’ll never be a doctor; that’s just not the way I’m wired. However, I also know that there are countless ways to make a difference in the lives of others. It was that very realization, while having a conversation with my parents the summer after my freshman year of high school, that started me on this journey. I took my modest savings, my love of neckties, and my disdain of cancer and decided to build a business so I could do my part to battle a disease that affects so many.

My ties are unique. Not only are they handcrafted and proudly ‘Made in USA’ with fabrics that I have chosen or designed, but 10% of the revenue from each tie sold will be donated to cancer research. I spent quite a bit of time researching a number of cancer related charities and I was struck by the work of the Cancer Research Institute (CRI). CRI is the world's leading nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to harnessing the immune system's power to conquer all forms of cancers. Most importantly, 87% of all funds received by CRI go directly to research programs to advance the treatment of cancer using immunotherapy.
